NFC North Showdown - Packers/Lions Picks From Yours Truly

An old school NFC North Showdown between the 2-1 Detroit Lions and 2-1 Green Bay Packers awaits us! Let’s dive into some trends from NFL Analyst Jared Block:

5 Trends to Watch for Lions @ Packers —

• Green Bay is currently 3-0 against the spread in Jordan Love starts this season, the Detroit Lions are 2-1 ATS. Packers HC Matt LaFleur is 16-5 against the spread as an underdog, 4-0 with Jordan Love as his QB.

• Packers games are 2-1 to the over while Lions games are 1-2 in that same regard.

• Jared Goff is the most-profitable QB against the spread over the last 5 seasons (41-24-1). While that is an impressive stat in the betting markets, he gets to face Green Bay OUTDOORS, where he has been way less impressive than in dome games indoors (Indoor: 27-14 ATS / Outdoor: 32-33-2 ATS).

• The Green Bay defense is giving up the second-most receptions to opposing running backs and the ninth-most fantasy points to the position through three weeks. Despite David Montgomery (leg) suiting up for TNF after missing last week, I expect this to be the big breakout game for rookie Jahmyr Gibbs in space.

• Entering Week 4, the Detroit Lions currently rank dead last against the TE, giving up THE MOST fantasy points to the opposition the last three games (24 rec - 253 yards - 1 TD). Packers rookie TE Luke Musgrave could be in a prime spot to take advantage of this situation after two games of 3+ receptions for 45 yards.
